NOOK Color

So I’ve had my NOOK for a little over 2 weeks now, and I love it. First thing I did was install cyanogen mod 7. In order to do this you take and make an image of cloclworomod onto a microseconds card, and drop the zipfiles for g-apps and cmd7 on the m-sd card. Pretty simple, you can find more complete instructions by Googling it. Other than a few hiccups, I am unable to keep anything on the SD card, it is working wonderfully. The native resolution is good, coming it at 1024 x 600, allowing you to run most apps. Unfortunately we wont be able to run the new adobe proto, or touch apps. They require a resolution of 1280 x 800 and to be running atleast honeycomb.

Ill be installing Honeycomb soon to see what a true android tablet experience will be like.

Recently did a mock up magazine ad for a new smell from Pine Trees. It’s for a Sakura, or cherry blossom scented air freshener. I like the idea of the magazine , I just need to get more stock images to work with.

Quick Update

Well My moped is sold. I posted it on Craigslist, and had it sold within 30 minutes. Jackson treat her well.Turned around took the money from that and purchased myself a mountain bike.

I decided if I’m going to use two wheels to get around town, I might as well lost some weight while I’m at it. I ended up spending about 20 dollars more on the bike then I sold the moped for. All in all I think it was a good trade, because I never used my moped. I’ll have another one someday, along with a 1984 Monte Carlo ss. Well this is crunch time with my classes, so I’m off to write a paper, finish an ad campaign, and take a final in math.

I am a true believer in the apocolypse. One day the earth will come to an end, I also believe that Zombie’s would be a kick ass plague. Your normal plague makes every one sick, weak, lie in bed until they die. Zombie’s make you move, and only the strong can survive. The upside of Down

Business here at the beach has been slower then ever. People are canceling reservations left and right, asking for refunds when they are in the no cancel zone.

All industries based on tourism need a cancellation policy. Our policy states that

” In the event of a cancellation, we will try to re rent the room. If we are unable to rent the room and you have not given us a seven day notice to your arrival we will hold the deposit placed on room. If we are able to re rent the room, you will be charged a $25 dollar cancellation fee.”

Does this really sound that unreasonable. I mean you have a week long reservation, that you made last year and expect us to fill it within 7 days time. Let’s be serious, you are canceling because of the weather. I understand. If my vacation was doomed to rain I would stay home also, but I wouldn’t bitch to the front desk person about me wanting to cancel it days before I was set to arrive.

The only exception to this , are the Canadians. I do understand the border’s are harsh to get through this year. For you I will gladly refund you if it’s within 4-5 days of your reservation, and you tell me it’s because of the border that you can’t make it.

Ford

My father has a ford truck from 1989. He loves this said truck. He spends more per month paying to fix shit on this truck, then I have to pay for my loan on my Jeep. I’ve had to replace brakes, transmission, etc etc on my Jeep. He has replacved everything in this truck from wiring to seatbelts. You know it he’s replaced it atleast once. It is now sitting outside my house, waiting for me to get home and fix it for him. He has no idea whats wrong except he thinks I fucked up putting in a battery….. Note to self I will never install a battery with pliers in the rain again for this old man. Because it might just be a few volts but damn does it hurt.

Bummer

Well this booming economy has apparently struck back. Called the boss on wednesday, told him we could work this friday sat and sunday. No  Call back. I get to my other job on sunday ( thank you for flexible hours) and look through the paper. Apparently I make too much money, and he’s looking to get some cheaper employees. Well as long as I get my paycheck from last week, and my tools out of the truck I’ll be all set.

In brighter news, I finally made a resume.  Posted it up on SMHW.com and we’ll see where it goes from there. Wish me luck

Online College

Been weary of online college’s for a while. I have found one that interests me. Westwood Online, it will either be a great learning experience or I’ll be out some money. They are accredited, and are ranked at number 9 out of all the online colleges.  Online College Rankings Well we will see how it pans out. Right now I’m going to try and get some financial aid, and pick a degree.

Craigslist

Craigslist is probably, no it is the single greatest site of all time. You can buy things ie.. mopeds, motorcycles, computers. YOu can get free shit, ie computers, furniture, scrap metal. Also they have the Best-Of-Craigslist. which is ridiculously amazingly awesome
